Hey there! Welcome to the Asikara blog! Tell us a little bit about you.
Hi, I’m Natalie-Claire. I help ambitious women gain the clarity and confidence to take action on their goals.
Before becoming a life coach for women, my journey into entrepreneurship started with personal development. After a few too many embarrassing situations and losing confidence in myself, I decided to work on myself. To become more organised and confident in myself and what I want. I actually have an engineering background which helps me create systems in my life and business.
First of all it's exciting to hear of women engineers because it's such h a male dominated industry and secondly tell us more...
During a very difficult period in my life, it was my faith, family and discovering personal
development that kept me going. Without God and my family I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing today.
My whole life turned upside down and I had to find ways to look beyond my circumstances. Through the Bible God gave me His promises and expanded my vision of my life and my future. Through personal development I was able to gain the tools I needed to create structure in my life. I created new habits and routines that I implemented into my daily schedule, I started setting goals and working towards achieving them. I was able to improve my life and change my perspective of what was possible and I wanted to do the same for other women too!
Courage and resilience helped me survive and it led me to starting my own business as a life coach. Now, I help women gain the clarity, confidence and courage to achieve their goals.
I love the way this setback actually was the push you needed to step outside your comfort zone and live your dreams! If you don't mind us asking, what are your goals? What would you like to gain from this journey you're on?
Absolutely! By God’s grace. I want to become a worldwide speaker to share my story and inspire and encourage women to go after their dreams and goals no matter what. My mission is to help women be happy and successful.
"Your difference is your destiny."
It's a beautiful thing to see that your driving force is helping others. Sincerity like that is hard to find these days! What have been your greatest challenges so far?
Being patient with the process. I learn and relearn that lesson often. I think as humans we are so impatient sometimes and want to get to our destination as quickly as possible.
It's understandable. I think 2020 has given us all time to slow down whether we wanted to or not! What has been your greatest achievement to date?
I would say that completing my engineering degree and running a 10km are pretty high but overall starting my own business is one I’m truly proud of and grateful for.
Starting a business is such a great achievement, we commend you! How have you been coping with lockdown?
It’s been a mixture of emotions but ultimately it has made me more grateful for health, family and my faith. I’ve intentionally invested more time and energy into the things that are really important to me.
Life Lesson: You can’t do it alone - this applies in life and in business. Having a good support system and network is so important.
Definitely, I don't know where i'd be without those three things in my life either! What's one thing our readers would be surprised to hear about you?
I’m Zambian but spent half of my life in South Africa and the other half in the UK.
You've clearly seen and lived in some amazing places and all these are a part of who you are. Do you have a favourite quote?
Your difference is your destiny.
This is my current favourite quote. I find that I have a new favourite quote every few years.
I love this quote because it has helped me embrace who I am so that I can pursue my dreams and goals. There is a sense of peace I feel in knowing that being my true self will help me become who I’m destined to be.
Too many of us are trying so hard to be something we're not, it's time we started owning who we are and loving the skin we're in! Before you go is there a top tip you'd like to share with us?
Yes! To be more organised and less overwhelmed schedule everything - in your paper diary or digital calendar. Yes, I mean everything - your appointments, work, exercise, self-care and even your free time. This helps you to be more in control of what happens even when the unexpected happens because you’re clear of what is already on your schedule. Then it's easy to change, add or remove things. You have the power to move things around because you know exactly what is there.
*Goes on her reminders app and starts scheduling everything* I think this tip was for me specifically!
