'My main goal is to listen to God and continue to deepen my relationship with Him. I want Him to be at the center of everything I do... '
My name is Niyah. I am a 22 year old fashion blogger, fashion stylist, and fashion design student living in Cincinnati Ohio. I am a God-fearing woman who loves to learn, create, and motivate.
Welcome. So Niyah, why blogging?
I've been blogging for going on 7 years (can you believe that?!). It just clicked to me that I could combine two things I love: writing + fashion and work towards building a future for myself as a sophomore in high school versus waiting to graduate college to do so. I've always been one to plan ahead.
Good thinking, we're all for entrepreneurship at Laura Jane! What has been your greatest achievement to date?
Hmm. That's difficult. I would say either having my fashion styling work featured on Who What Wear, or being invited to speak on a panel at this past year's Brandemonium (an International Brand Conference & Festival) that features keynote speakers from the heads of companies such as Google, Target, and Kroger.
WOW, now that's something to shout about! Congratulations from me. I have to ask, if you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Ever since seeing Africa's Next Top Model a couple of years ago, I've wanted to travel to Cape Town, South Africa. There seems to be a huge fashion scene there and I know it's headed towards becoming a fashion capital. Also, the people are just gorgeous! The country looks beautiful, and I love to be surrounded by aesthetically pleasing things. Haha. It seems like it would be a very inspirational place to be. Earlier this year I had the privilege to visit Morocco which is in North Africa, so I would love to return to the Motherland and see what else she has to offer.
Yaaaas! I went to Zimbabwe in December gone I know exactly what you're getting at. Pure Bliss. I hear the motivational speaker even in your typing, what motivates you?
The future. My goals and aspirations. An eagerness to uncover God's plan for me
God has exceeding abundantly more for you than you can even imagine, claim it girl! What has been your biggest challenge so far?
Seeing a return on investment. I put a lot of time, effort, and energy into my projects (planning photoshoots, research, writing posts, promoting on social media, networking, etc.) so it can be disappointing when I lose followers or they remain stagnant, or I don't have a lot of views, or have trouble getting new clients to book. There's so much competition out there. So I can be really hard on myself, but I just have to remind why I do it: passion, plan, and purpose.

That's the right way to look at it for sure. Who inspires you?
My dad. He was many side hustles on top of a successful career. He sets himself to high standards, and is constantly trying to better himself and those around him. Although he's a very busy man, he always makes time for his family and keeps that first.
There's something special about dad's because I tell you, mine inspires me too. New year, new plans, care to share some of yours with us? (insert cheeky wink here)
I want to be more intentional with my styling business and more proactive in building my brand. In 2017 God revealed to me a new avenue to pursue that is in line with his purpose for me, so I've been working on preparing to launch that later this year. My main goal is to listen to God and continue to deepen my relationship with Him. I want Him to be at the center of everything I do, instead of inviting Him into select areas of my life and shutting Him out of others as I've done in the past.
We'd love to hear more about your brand when the time comes so keep us posted. What's one thing our readers would be surprised to hear about you?

Well aren't you full of surprises! I can't let you go without asking for a top tip or some words of inspiration for our readers...
Listen to your gut. Follow your intuition. I've made many mistakes because I've second-guessed myself and learnt later that hindsight is 20/20. So just pay attention the first time. Trust yourself! If you're a believer, just know that God isn't confusing. You'll know if something is from Him or not because it will be clear.
It's been our pleasure interviewing you, where can we find you?
