3 Easy Headwrap Tutorials with Videos

Updated: Mar 29

With the arrival of some new Headwrap prints in our store, we thought it would be a great idea to share with you some Headwrap tutorials that even beginners will want to try.

Top tips for first time Head-wrappers:

  • Don't be afraid to try - I'll never forget our 2018 beach shoot, at the beginning of the shoot, one of the models was too afraid to style the Headwrap for herself and asked a friend to do it. By the end of the shoot she was wrapping for everyone else! 0-Pro in 2 hours.

  • Headwrap styles are always trial and error - Not every style will look good on every head, it's just like getting your hair done. Some styles are a serious flop but don't be disheartened. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.

  • Whatever happens, rock it with confidence - Confidence changes things. When you look great and feel confident, other people can see that in you and it is infectious. Be bold, create something unique and go out and slay!

3 Easy Headwrap Styles you can try right now

1. The Experimental Wrap

As we said a few moments ago, the art to head wrapping is actually trial and error. Some of us look like we know what we are doing, when in reality, we are making it up as we go along and somehow it turns out beautiful.

One of our amazing customers, Cammie, sent us this video of her styling our Reuka African Print Headwrap. We absolutely love how it turned out and had to share it with you.

2. The Shoelace Bow

This headwrap style is as easy as tying your shoes. It's the same method and has amazing results. Sasha our model is wearing the Ropa Headwrap.

We also have to mention that this style works really great with Mini wraps too, have a look at Nonsie's tutorial.

3. The Top Knot

If you ever see me out and about, this is my go to Headwrap style. It works with everything and I absolutely love doing it. Here's how to master it using a full Headwrap.

Our most recent shoot, model Chrissy replicated a top knot with our new Duto Headwrap. Have a look at our Headwraps to see the new prints.

It's as easy as that. What are your favourite headwrap styles? What headwrap tutorials have you found useful? Drop us a comment below.
